What to tell your stylist when you're in the chair?
Getting the perfect haircut is like having a great relationship-you talk! "Part of our job as hairdressers is to lisen to what you have to say about your hair and then turn that information into the perfect style for your particular case". To ensure this always happens, there are five things your hairdreser wants to hear every time you visit the salon.
How much time do you want to spend on your hair? Be honets!... you don't want to have a 45 minute style maintenance when you only have 20 minutes for epending in your hair each morning.
Should your lifestyle be an influence in the selection of your hairstyle? Are you involved in a speciall sports activity? Do you want the option of switching syles during the day?
Which are the areas in the actual haircut that need special attention.
Testy cowlick? Thin hair? Hairdresser have professional training but you still know your hair best. Never hesitate to speak up about areas that need to be addressed.
Do you have any special lenght considerations?
Short around ears? Bangs below the eyebrows? You need to clearly communicate this information. when you say you want your hair over your ears for instance, do you mean short enough so that it doesn't touch the ear or long enough to cover the ears? The same is true of curls, wavy means curly for one person, curly means ringlets to another.
Please, bring in pictures!
You may not be able to have the exact style in your pictures, but they can serve as visual references for your hairstylist. Pictures can accurately describe a style, the dream color for your hair, texture, balance, type of hair definition, volume, etc. etc. Pictures will show your hairdresser what you're really after with your hair.
